Proceed directly into the club, make it to your classes, try new ones, bring a friend for support, make it fun but make it a priority in your life to take charge of your health, TODAY!

Don’t give up if you have a setback!

We all have setbacks.  You may indulge one night at dinner and have two heaping helpings of that casserole you love.  You may dig into the cookie jar one too many times after a stressful day at work.  You may decide not to exercise today because you would rather curl up on the couch with a book.  It’s okay.

Setbacks are normal.  How you react to them is the key.  If you get off track don't beat  yourself up.  You can get back on track and a setback doesn't mean  you have failed or that you might as well give up.

All three Sportsclub locations offer 250 Group Fitness Classes weekly and we can definitely help you get back on track.  Come visit any Sportsclub location and let us help you FIND YOUR BODY LANGUAGE.  If you are on a mission to lose weight don't reward yourself with a piece of cheesecake.  That is sabotaging your efforts.  Instead, reward yourself with a new pair of jeans that you can now fit into.  Remember that you're in the process of accomplishing something that takes time, effort, and perseverance.  The end result will be worth it!  Let us help you burn those calories and have fun doing it.

If I can help answer any questions about our wonderful Les Mills Group Fitness classes please feel free to contact me at lstewart@sportsclubsc.com

Once again it is the time when we all make a list of New Year’s resolutions!

Have you made your list of New Year’s resolutions, and are you going to strictly adhere to them this year?  In years past have your resolutions lasted for about a month and then you fell back into old patterns and behaviors?

Why does this happen?  Are we lazy?  No.  Do we lack ambition?  No.  The reality is that the New Year's resolutions we make are just too general, and we create goals that are too broad.

Here are a few guidelines to help you stay on track in 2011.

Set Realistic Goals-

Losing weight and getting in shape are probably the most popular New Year's resolutions.  Thes are great goals but how do you quantify them?  Do you want to lost 5 pounds, ten pounds, maybe even 50 pounds?  Do you know how many calories you are consuming now and what qualifies as cutting back?  You have to have clear and specific goals or it is too easy to lose your way and revert back to the bad habits you vowed to break.

Calculate how many pounds you want to lose.  Figure on losing the recommended TWO pounds per wee.  Instead of syaing you will lose 20 pounds in twn weeks shoot for losing five pounds in three weeks.  Celebrate your victories often and that will help you stay on track.  Keep working in increments of five pounds until you meet your overall goal.

Do you want to know exactly how many calories you consume and burn.  Ask us about dotFITand the exerspy.  These are fool proof tools that will get you to your goals quickly!

Limit Your Resolutions-

Be honest with yourself.  You are not going to make over your entire life in just a few months.  True change takes time and the more pressure you put on yoruself, the more difficult it will be to stick to those resolutinos.  Set resonable goals and attack them one at a time

The better you feel, the more encouraged you will be to continue on your path to better health.

Try an new Group Fitness class.  Burn some extra calories and have fun at the same time!
