Sportsclub Tennis is about to enter a new phase as the construction and renovation project draws to a close and we can gear up for expanded play, socials, and clinics.
Already on the September calendar is league play most mornings and evenings, an adult social on the evening of 9/9, a benefit social on 9/30 for Leukemia and Lymphoma, and the regular Saturday morning social schedule. Also in the mix is the first ever Sportsclub Member Tennis Championship which will be held 9/23-25 and which will coincide with the Grand Opening Dedication for the tennis facility. There are big changes with the junior program as we will be going totally Quickstart with the 10 and under portion of instruction with all junior clinics expanding into Wednesdays as we will offer junior clinics Tuesday-Wenesday-Thursday. As of this writing, we will have 6 teams playing out of Sportsclub in Junior Team Tennis. So, join in on all of the fun and come see what Sportsclub has to offer!!!

Our exciting construction project is well underway as clearing and grading for the NEW hard courts has begun and the fencing and painting for the clay courts is moving quickly.
By the end of summer, all of the clay court fencing and painting will be complete, as will the new material and lines. The icing on the cake will be the addition of three new hard courts, coupled with lights for court 1. Through this summer construction process, we are maintaining our clinic schedule as much as possible. Stay tuned for construction and related updates!

Sportsclub has a very active tennis program as it participates in a wide variety of USTA Leagues and hosts 2 sanctioned Adult and 1 sanctioned Junior Tournament annually.
This year, we will also be holding a Club Championship for Adults and Seniors in a wide range of NTRP categories.
The weekly Saturday morning social is a drop in event for members only and is very well attended, and most months there is an adult social on select Friday evenings. The Sportsclub Tennis staff is made up of certified professionals through the Professional Tennis Registry, an international teaching association based in Hilton Head and founded by Dennis Van Der Meer. We offer drop-in adult clinics scheduled throughout the week for beginners to advanced players.
Sportsclub is also active in Junior Team Tennis and has junior clinics for all ages and skill levels. Private and semi-private lessons are available and can be scheduled with any of our tennis professionals. Non-members can attend clinics and take lessons so please feel free to contact me through the email link below.
Sportsclub Greenville has 9 clay courts and an two indoor courts. Our two indoor courts allow us to form in-house “bubble leagues” for 3.0-3.5 players as well as 4.0-4.5 players. Members can purchase permanent indoor court time or individual court time to insure year round play. Stringing and pro-shop services are also available.
More information can be found elsewhere on this website in the brochure and monthly news-letter that list rates, prices, event dates, etc. The Tennis Office can also be contacted at tennis@sportsclubsc.com for more specialized questions.
See you on the courts!
Dave Carrick - Tennis Director, Sportsclub Greenville
Welcome to 2011 as we prepare for another year of tennis at Sportsclub Greenville. We have welcomed many new members in the past month and they are anxious to get into the mix once the weather cooperates.
Plans for new courts, as well as associated work, are in the process of being finalized and more informatoin will be forthcoming when the final decision is made.
Bubble use (indoor courts) has been strong and permanent time has risen dramatically. As of this bolg, over 32 hours per week have been pre-booked by members and does not include Bubble League (11 am - 7 pm Saturdays, 1pm - 7 pm Sundays) or lessons and clinics. Although we have been able to get some clay courts up, the cold temperatures have remained in control at tennis facilities across the Upstate. However, this will soon fade as we get closer to Spring and our clinics, socials, and league play resume on a more regular basis.
If you are currently a Sportsclub Tennis member don't forget to call the Weather Hotline (331-2524) if you are unsure of court conditions.
