About Sportsclub Kids:

For 13 years, Sportsclub Kids has been providing fun and enriching programming that parents and kids love. Our programs serve children 4-16 years old and include Summer Day Camp (10-11 weeks), School Break Camp, After School, Kids’ Night Out, a counselor-in-training program, field trips, and birthday parties. Our 5500 square foot facility combined with the amenities of Sportsclub Fitness and Wellness Greenville, which is located next door, allows us to offer a wide variety of activities including swimming, tennis, arts, sports, and much more. Guided by our KODE values (kindness, ownership, determination, and enthusiasm), our mission is to foster growth in children; help them develop positive, nurturing relationships with each other and with adult role models; provide them with opportunities to have fun, try new things, and learn skills; and protect and promote their physical, social, and emotional well-being. 

Position Type: 

Full-time position with varying hours depending on the season, scheduled events, and workload. Some weekends and holidays are required.

Chief Financial Officer of Sportsclub

Position Purpose:

As the general manager and camp director, you will be at the heart of a fun and vibrant community that provides year-round programming that enriches the lives of children. You will develop and oversee all programs, provide leadership for campers and staff, build relationships with stakeholders (parents, campers, staff, visitors, Sportsclub department heads, etc.), foster a positive camp culture, and plan the strategic vision for Sportsclub Kids. You will also play an important role in the day-to-day operations of Sportsclub Kids and need to have the flexibility to step into a variety of different roles. This dynamic position requires you to work well in a busy, high-energy environment and be able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects at once. To be successful in this role, you also need to be someone who cares passionately about our mission and values and will enthusiastically embrace challenges in order to provide the highest-quality programs for our participants, parents, staff, and guests. 


Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising staff (approximately 12 people during the school year and 45 during the summer)  

  • Fostering a positive, healthy, and fun culture that promotes growth and our KODE values

  • Providing leadership that is constructive, supportive, and encourages collaboration

  • Developing, improving, and growing all programs and overseeing their execution in a way that supports the mission of Sportsclub Kids and the company goals of Sportsclub

  • Creating and implementing the budget ($500,000+ annually)

  • Communicating effectively (oral and written) and building relationships with potential and existing customers and skillfully handling any issues or concerns

  • Overseeing registration for all programs

  • Marketing Sportsclub Kids through social media, emails, the website, events, and other means in conjunction with Sportsclub’s Marketing Department

  • Creating and implementing policies and procedures to ensure camper safety including risk management and emergency action plans

  • Researching and purchasing equipment and supplies

  • Supervising camper behavior management, which includes creating and adapting policies, training staff, intervening in behavioral issues, collaborating with parents about camper behavior, etc.  

  • Coordinating with Sportsclub staff about billing, marketing, facility maintenance, and other aspects of the business.

  • Attending monthly managerial meetings and working effectively in a team atmosphere with fellow managers to further company goals

We are looking for candidates who: 

  • have experience working with children in a leadership role (at least 5 years) and a passion for helping them grow

  • have experience working in a camp or recreation environment (at least 2 years) 

  • have management experience (at least 2 years) 

  • have a bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) 

  • are experienced and proficient with Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, and social media (Facebook and Instagram)

  • can read, analyze, and interpret basic business documents

  • are at least 21 years old with a valid SC driver’s license and good driving record and are willing to drive a minibus

  • are willing to complete American Heart Association CPR/AED certification, Starguard Shallow-Water Lifeguard certification, CDC Heads Up concussion training (online), and Stewards of Children child protection training (online) within 90 days of being hired (all provided by Sportsclub)

  • are prepared to stand or walk for 25% or more of their shift, lift up to 25 lbs., and climb stairs and are comfortable doing basic math operations

  • can prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments and use strong reasoning skills to solve problems

  • are self-motivated and work well independently without direct supervision

  • have excellent time management skills and work well in a busy and often noisy environment managing multiple projects at once
    have strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills (both oral and written)

  • are dedicated to developing their skills and will seek opportunities to do so

  • are positive role models who will lead by example to create a fun camp culture that celebrates growth and our KODE values.


Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position will be determined by qualifications and experience. This position will be eligible for all full-time Sportsclub employee benefits including sick leave, vacation, health insurance, dental insurance, and family gym membership.
